Why does it always let you down when you are needing it. Like the rubbish laptop I am supposed to use for work - can I get it to connect to the server so I can download the documents I need - can I heck. And don't even try that "use a memory stick" line because I don't have one and cannot afford one (and couldn't wing one on expenses without having to fill out numerous forms and then have a two month debate with the finance department on whether my use of the memory stick is sufficient to neccesitate them paying for it.)

But paper is just as bad - in my rage I kicked over a big pile of filing that I haven't got round to sorting yet, and when I picked it up I got a paper cut.

What is the solution? I am a bit bored and have become rather taken with the latest celebrity realtuy TV shows. Competeing each night for my attention are Celebrity Big Brother (Channel 4) and Soapstar Superstar (ITV1). To be honest my heart belongs to CBB, but mostly because of the early morning review programme with Dermot O'Leary, which wakes me up a bit before I have to commute all the way across London. Although I do think that 16-year old kid from Corrie is a great performer.

Who am I kidding - I wish I had a life, but I don't at the moment. Too tired to do anything else, so watching crap TV is the pinnacle of my day.

Addicted to puppy wars

I have been to Rome, but wasn't blown away. OK so it has nice architecture and sculptures and the biggest church in the world, and great ice-cream... but it has passed the point of tourism where it no longer has much appeal to the visitor looking for authentic Rome. I understand this is a hypocritical point, considering that I went there as a tourist, and did ALL the tourist sites. But still, I will always prefer Venice - for a start it does't have any cars there so less chance of death!

I had a quick look at Sam's blog (the one in Oz) and he had a link to a great website called 'Puppy Wars' http://puppywar.com/. At first I was just looking up his puppies (who are very cute) but now I am addicted to it. It's kind of like an animal lovers version of ' Hot or Not' http://www.hotornot.com/or 'rate my poo' (which is so disgusting I am not putting in a link!).

Check it out, but be warned - there are some disgusting dogs out there as well as the cute ones (mainly chihuahuas!)

The Death of My Bladder...

Well I am sat in a member's club in central London, looking busy and trying not to obviously eavesdrop on some people's conversation - which is hard as they occasionally mention me!

It's interview time at work and I am 'facilitatiing' - loosely translated as sitting outside the interview room, drinking lots of bottled water and playing around with my colleagues b.e.a.utiful new laptop (it's tiny and silver - I will continue the myth that girls only like things because of asthetics, and wont upset the boys by telling them that I did the research into choosing this laptop and it has the best spec to meet her needs!)

Anyway, I am happy as I look more important than I am - sitting and looking like I am working, when my time has majoratively been used to look on google maps to try to locate - my house, my old house, my boyfriend's house (in Brisbane) and his old house (in Camberwell). It's been 50% successful! (I hope my manager never reads this!!)

Last night we (Amy and I) went to see 'The Death of Mr Lazarescu' - a romanian film part of the London Film Festival. It was very good, but very depressing, detailing a poor old man's journey to try to get treated for his headache and vomiting. The depiction of his descent into a non-communicative state and the ambulance attendant's continued attempts to get him treated were particularly moving. To counter this rather arty film viewing I am going to see 'In Her Shoes' - the new Cameron Diaz, Toni Collette movie - which I am sure will be less moving and merely depressing as I realise how little I resemble either leading lady!

Anyway, I am off to search for my Mum's house!

ooh look - pictures of our party!

I know It's not very cool to be this excited about technology, but I have now worked out how to add pictures to my blog! Thought it would be a good way to produce christmas presents that are a bit more interesting than a CD or some liquer chocolates.

Trouble is wool is quite expensive and despite Amy's great suggestion to buy a sheep (could double up as a lawnmower and milk/cheese provider) I fear I may have to purchase it in the normal fashion. I have already spent far too long looking at balls of wool on e-bay and wondering whether my needles are too small for the wool I am using (have discovered today that they are - I'm using 9mm, when they should be 15mm!)

So today I placed a bid for some marshmallow pink wool - 1kg of it. Just think of all the pink things I can knit people for christmas (not sure my brothers will be too happy though!)

Ode to Nigel

Lament with me brothers - our rat is dead!

Sadly poor Nigel, my beautiful rat (who was a bit bitey!) has passed away - just days before he was due to retire to Leeds with Amy's parents. Such a shame - he would have had a good life up North I am certain.

Well, after almost three days at work with no Internet access (so no e-mails) I am happy to say it's back on, so I can do some constructive work now (yeah?) butI am equally dreading the mountain of e-mails I need to wade through now.

Anyway thanks for the comments you guys left me.
